Why hello there! A (very) belated happy new year to you all🙂 bet you don’t remember me I’ve been gone a few months (a long time in the blogging world ha ha) no excuses other than I was miserable and grumpy towards the end of 2014 and didn’t have the energy for blogging. I’ve still been painting a plenty though (you will have seen if you follow me on IG) the good news is some of the issues that were making me unhappy last year have been partly resolved and I’m feeling much more optimistic for 2015!
Onto the important stuff! Nails! Here is just a quick pic of the nails I wore on New Years Eve (yeah I know..not very festive are they ha ha) I was in a huge rush to get ready so needed nails I could be out of the door quickly with so went for one of my favourite thermal nail polishes – Dance Legends ‘Thermo 174’
I applied two coats and then added some silver dots using a dotting tool and Barry M Silver Foil. The thermal polish changes between a lilacy bluish and pinky shade depending on the temperature but when I wear it, it stays in a permanent state between both colours ha ha. I like that as it gives a gradient effect but much easier than doing a gradient!
You may also notice I’ve changed the shape of my nails! I grew them long, went shortish again and then decided I wanted to go back to a more almond shape for a while. I’m sure I’ll change my mind again soon🙂
I hope you are all ok readers and had a nice Christmas and new year?
Bye for now
Sorry I’ve been missing in action the last few weeks😦 I do have lots of manis photographed and ready to post, its just finding time to do it!
Just a little note to let you know I have a post over at Fixin to Faff today. Super excited that Ali wanted me as a guest on her great blog! Check it out here to see the image in full colour and find out how I created it!
Bye for now lovelies.x
I have something a little different today! I recently saw an image on IG that featured four nail artists each portraying a different season on their nails; I thought it was a really neat idea and wanted to set a version up with some of my favourite bloggers.
I bagged winter for my nails and was delighted when Tracey from Simply into my Nails agreed to take spring, Lisa from Starfish Nails took summer and Ave at Nail Lacquer UK chose autumn. We agreed that we could use any technique or type of design as long as it represented our given season.
As I chose winter I decided to try out Picture Polish Storm, which I’ve had for a while. I must admit I initially did have something a little more complex in mind for my nails but it went horribly wrong so I started again and went with this simple design.
I teamed Storm up with Instinct, also from Picture Polish as I think it’s a lovely icy looking blue colour. On my nails is just one coat of Storm, as you can tell ….it really does look like snow! I like it a lot more than I expected to. On my ring finger I stamped some white snowflakes from a Mo You festive plate.
I think I managed to portray winter in a manicure, right?! ha ha. I can’t wait for the weather to get colder so I can wear it again.
Here is a collage of all our manis together – click on the ladies names below to take you directly to their posts.
